NO Pain, NO Gain

I really hate that expression, you know that? I have been trying to walk everyday and I can say I am in pain. My body is screaming out at me: "What the Hell Are You Doing???? It is just so much easier to eat a Reese's. There were no excuses today as the temperatures in my neighborhood hit 68 degrees. I had to call my father who is in Aruba to tell him that he and my mom are wasting their hard earned money and could be sitting by my pool instead. It still has a few piles of filthy black snow on it, but consider it decor.

On these warmer days, my plan is to leave work early by 35 minutes or so and walk a route near Madigan's bus stop. I did this today and I think I may be making the Mass State Police's Most Wanted List. A house I walk by belongs to the Commonwealth's governor, Deval Patrick. I think I made the trooper nervous by walking by three times. Glad I did not have an asthma attack!

On the police front, I thought I'd share a story with you. On Saturday, Madigan had a birthday party for one of her school chums. The party was at her house in Boston. We were about three blocks away from the house when I saw blue lights in my rear view mirror. It was an unmarked Ford Taurus. The cop came up to my window and being the polite Gal I am, I said good afternoon. He told me I was one of the worst drivers he had ever seen. He wanted to know what my problem was. Now, you all should know I am a step 9 driver and have not been pulled over in several years. I asked him what I had done wrong. He did not answer me, he just said that he couldn't figure out who is a worse driver, me or my husband.......WHAT? It turned out to be one of the Docs' patients who is a Boston Cop. She was still sitting in the car and had her partner pull a fast one on me! I was ready to kill her! I could feel that my face was bright red. After a good laugh, I realized that I have to get rid of that vanity license plate! As for our patient, she owes a double copay next time she is in the office!

I'd be ticked! But you're a better person than I!

That is a funny police story!

Good for you for getting out there and walking. At least you've got some good weather to do it in--at least for now. :)
