Home Sweet Home

We made it back from Aruba in one piece. I noticed immediately that although on the calendar it says Spring, the weather does not. It is cold here!!! We had a very relaxing vacation. Lots of sun, sand, seafood, and steak. Madigan had a great time, we met a very nice family from Virginia on the beach one day. They had a daughter who was also 5, so Madigan had a new best friend for a few days. The surf was a bit crazy for two days. We go to a great spot called Boca Catalina. It is one of the best places to snorkel on the island. For two days, you could not even go in the water because of the waves. The girls had a great time tempting the waves to come after them. My camera has an amazing feauture in that it can shoot 6 frames per second in the sport mode. I got some great shots of them running in and out of the water.
Ah, to be a kid again! More to come....

R & R

Hello Readers! Sorry I have been so bad about posting the last week. We left for Aruba on Monday, so all last week was the crazy week before vacation. Madigan is off for two weeks in March instead of the typical February and April vacations, so here we are! So far, so great. The weather here is always the same, sunny and 87 degrees. We have been having lots of fun swimming in our pool, eating, drinking and playing. Yesterday, we went up to the beach by the Marriott and spent the afternoon with our friends who live here. They run a watersports company from the beach. Madigan got to ride in the boat for a while which she was ecstatic about. She was going to go tubing, but they got really busy so we took a raincheck although it better not rain! We have had two great meals already. Tonight we go to my favorite restaurant not only on the island, but in the whole world! It is called Madame Janette's. If any of you ever come to Aruba, this is a must do! Gotta get back outside to try to get a tan on this Irish skin of mine! Have a great day!

This Made Me Laugh

I've started trying to walk everyday especially during worktime because I am a lazy lump. I saw this Staples truck and I thought it was hysterical. I looked a bit strange I am sure laughing outloud while walking by myself. It is the little things in life!

Miscellaneous

First of all, huge hugs and congratulations go out to Our Girl Chloe who gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! Welcome to Motherhood!

Next, lunch was terrific at the Four Season's last Friday. My sister had a wonderful birthday and we were joined by one of our great friends (and my college roomate) Judy. When I made the reservation, the staff asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. I told them that indeed we were so they then asked if I'd like to have them arrange for a floral arrangement from Winston Flowers. Of course I did. Here is what they came up with:

I did not have my camera with me at the lunch, so I took this picture three days later. It looked amazing when the tulips were tighter, but then again, didn't we all look better when things were tighter too?

As for the Other Boleyn Girl; the book was so much better than the movie. If you haven't read it, please do. The movie was fine. Scarlett Johansson was a bit dry. Natalie Portman and Eric Bana were great. He made a great King Henry, his voice is so sexy........I digress. I felt like the whole second half of the movie was very rushed. I don't want to give away any plot here, never one to be a spoiler, but I think they lost a lot of the true love story of Henry and Anne.

If you can't get your fill of King Henry and his Court from the book or movie, check out the Showtime original series "The Tudors". I don't have Showtime, but now I want it. On Demand offered up Season One until today for free. There are 10 episodes, so you have to watch quickly! Season 2 starts on Sunday, March 30th and I don't know how I can wait until it comes out on DVD. The cast is amazing. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is King Henry and he plays it incredibly well. He is sane one minute and crazy the next! http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1305149607/bclid1311281474/bctid1428627737
