Happy Birthday

Today is my sister's birthday, Happy Birthday Susie! I hope you have a wonderful day! We will be celebrating tomorrow by having lunch at one of my favorite places, The Bristol Lounge at The Four Season's Hotel in Boston. They have the most incredible cheeseburger! Before lunch, we are going to try and catch an early viewing of "The Other Boleyn Girl". If you have not yet read the book, you must especially if you like anything to do with the English monarchy. It is a big book but an easy read.
Not much else going on around here. We had some unexpected snow last night and are awaiting another ministorm tomorrow night. That should make for some fun this weekend for the kids. Madigan has a birthday party to go to on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, we are going to have dinner with the Doc's family. Anyone need any grape leaves? His aunt makes great ones! Madigan even eats them which is a total shock because she is a very fussy eater. If our timing is right, I may be able to swing in to the Wrentham Outlets on our way there for some Spring stuff!

Oh Captain, My Captain

How great is this picture of Jason??? I cannot wait for baseball season to start. Things are pretty boring around Beantown sports wise. No one pays a bit of attention to the Bruins. The Celtics seem to be on their way back, and we still cannot discuss the Patriots without a tear or two rolling down our cheeks! For now, think baseball and think Spring!

Great News

Are any of you readers fans of ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition? We just found out that one of our patients was surprised by Ty and Company last week and their house was demolished yesterday! Here is the link to the page about their story. In short, Renee and Paul had two young boys and she was pregnant with their third child. She delivered a baby girl in 2006. Paul was returning from the hospital after bringing the boys in to meet their new sister when he got into a serious car accident. The boys were fine, but he suffered life threatening injuries and has had an incredible uphill battle ever since. I am so happy for this family that ABC is coming in to give them a house to accomodate Paul's special needs. These things just make us realize that we need to count our blessings.

The Days of Yore

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far, away, I used to go to fun places like U2 concerts and Professional Sporting events. Now, I go to see events like High School Musical on Ice. There have been countless others who have came before this one such as Nemo and Disney Princesses. I have always taken my tickets and used them as permission to take a nap. This time, however, I actually enjoyed the show (GASP!) The songs are really catchy and the skating was great. Gabrielle fell twice and who doesn't love to watch that! Madigan and her friends all had a great time. I only had to drop 10 bucks at the novelty table too! She chose a microphone headset that she kept on through the whole show. It made for a great rainy Monday.

V Day

Some may think Valentine's Day is for couples. The Doc and I rarely ever do anything special (everyday is special, right?) for each other. Instead, we focus all that love and attention on Madigan. She had a great time creating her Valentines for her classmates. Hello Kitty and Scooby Doo were the selected choices. They had a special cookie at school when they exchanged their cards. When Madigan got home, we gave her a little Valentine's Surprise. She was very excited to rip into the bag to see what kind of treats were in store. Here is her loot!

She got a new bathing suit and swim goggles, some heart shaped muffin pans with Valentine inspired sprinkles, some new hair ponies, socks, and notepad, and two adorable purchases from Petit Bateau. One is a hot pink (although in the photo it looks red)skirt with a petticoat underneath. The second outfit is some pink yoga pants and long sleeved shirt that are incredibly soft. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Tonight is the Night

Let's get this party started! Come on in Big Brother Fans! Can't wait to discuss......

Fun Night Out

On Friday night, the Doc and I met up with some parents of Madigan's school chums for dinner. We had never been out to dinner together before but we had a nice poolside afternoon over the Summer and found that we had lots of things in common. We went to a great place in Kimba's neighborhood called Tangierino. It is a Moroccan restaurant that serves incredible food and the vibe is very exotic. We sat at a table that was completely draped in veils with a canopy. There were lots of candles and the colors of the fabrics were deep reds and purples. You really felt like you were in another world. A bellydancer even appeared and man could she shake it! The cocktails lived up to their great names like "Sex in Agrabir" and The Bellydancer". They also have a second side to the place that is a Casbah Lounge. Inside you can try the Houkas a.k.a Shishas. We did not go in there because it was jam packed. That was fine with me since I am not a smoker and would not have tried it. The kid at the door said that they are expanding and by Spring they'll double their space. So, if you are local and looking for adventure, head over to Tangierino!

America's Next Top Model 2020

Here she is looking fierce and ready to win America's Next Top Model in the year 2020! This is her serious model face. She also specializes in twirling! Getting her to cooperate in front of the camera is not always easy. I wish Tyra and Jay Manuel could supervise our photo shoots!

Heartache

We are all sick here in Patriot Land. What an awful end to our near perfect season. To see the game end that way was just terrible. To see them play the whole game that way was completely awful. I don't know what happend to our 18-0 team. They did not even seem to show up. I am just thankful that I only had one Lemon Drop Martini last night so that my upset stomache is not due to alcohol intake as well as Superbowl Let Down Syndrome. Goodbye Perfect Season. Bring on Jason Varitek and David Ortiz.....
