Lost?

Any of you bloggers out there watch Lost? I loved this show in season one. Now though, I think they call it Lost because the viewers are. What was up with last night's storyline? Two characters, Nikki and Paulo, who they brought on this season and showed maybe once before on the beach comprised the entire show. My feeling is that they have enough storylines already and should focus on those. The show feels too "choppy" for me. By the time an interesting episode makes it way back on our wide screen plasma tv's, I can't remember all the details and clues from that storyline. I won't even get stared on its new time slot (yes, I will, 10pm is too late!)
I prefer the episodes with Jack, Kate, Sawyer, John and Sayid. Those are the ones that keep me on the edge of my seat. I do appreciate that they aren't plugging in any reruns this time around. That makes me crazy! With the arrival of Spring, we need to prepare for the arrival of cliffhangers. Hopefully, Lost will step up and leave us wanting more all Summer long!

The Great Steak Debate

I don't know about you all, but I LOVE steak. I am weird in that I only eat steak and chicken and when at a restaurant, I will always choose steak. In Boston, we are inundated with steak houses. The Doc and I are fortunate enough to be able to try lots of these places and I have narrowed down my three favorite spots! Coming in third is Abe & Louie's. The location is prime. This eatery is smack in the middle of Boylston Street, one of Boston's main thorough fares for shopping, business and the finish line of the Boston Marathon. They have a great room upstairs with full bar and unbelievable leather club chairs.

Next, the second prize winner is Fleming's. This restaurant has never disappointed me. In fact, we had our office Christmas Party (held in February of this year) there and no one seemed to voice any complaints. This place is huge, it has a very spacious dining room and has private rooms in back if you have a special event or a large gang to party with.

And, the Grand Prize Winner of my Favorite Steak Place is: (drumroll please) Morton's of Chicago The meat here is absolutely succulent. It literally melts in your mouth. I love how they have the "menu cart" with the presentation of each cut of meat so you really see what you are getting. My favorite steak you ask? The steak au poivre prepared rare. I completely ignore that warning on the bottom of the menu about food temperature. In my opinion, the only way to eat is steak is to have it rare to medium rare.

How about you? Any favorites I need to try? Comment, comment, comment because I love suggestions for restaurants!

Has Spring Sprung?

Every morning, Madigan runs outside to bring in the Boston Globe. It is her daily ritual. Today was a red letter day. She ran in yelling "Spring is here, spring is here". Sure enough, it was a beautiful morning, about 53 degrees with bright sunshine. To Madigan Spring=Dresses. This kid has been chomping at the bit to throw open her closet to reveal what she calls "My Beautifuls". So, this is the lovely number she chose for school today. It is by Baby Lulu and the pattern is the same one that matches her nursery bedding. I really don't care for the overlay and tried to convince her to just toss it out. However, as she was born an hour and a half away from being a Scorpio, she refused. She did grace the neighborhood with a few of her poses and dance moves though!

Buried Alive!

Hi Everyone, sorry I have had absolutely no exciting posts here. I am crazy at work just trying to catch up from the week off. Add to that, we are getting new computers (read: we are finally getting PC's and the internet) so the computer guy has been in my office for the last few days. Then, I tried one of the workstations and found some "filth" in the google search window. It seems as if the friendly office cleaning crew has decided to get their jollies after hours and infect our computer. Now, poor computer guy has to run some anti-virus software and clean the whole brand new computer up for us!

On the home front, we are just waiting for the most recent batch of snow to melt and then we'll be having the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. I know you are all hanging off the edge of your seats for the details on that extravaganza!

For now, everyone enjoy the new season. It is certainly not Spring here in Boston where it was 29 degrees on my ride in at 10 in the morning. Is it time to call the pool company to schedule the opening yet?

Discount Days

Just wanted to mention that one of my favorite online retailers was having a pretty good sale. Boden is offering 15% off and free returns thru Sunday, March 18th. Hurry to take advantage of this sale. I normally wait for the end of season sale, but there are a few things that have caught my eye such as this dress in the pink and green pattern. Not sure I can justify more Madigan shopping, but sometimes the Pink and Green wins!

Ruffles Anyone Part II

Here is my recreation of the adorable suit I got from CWD Kids for Miss Madigan. It is amazing when shooting kids that you have to take 100 pictures to get one good one. That is why I love my digital camera now. Unfortunately, lighting was not on our side when I took this. We weren't able to get to the beach at the time of day I would have preferred (early a.m. or just before sunset) but my model was cooperative and the waves were incredible. I neglected to wear my suit since I thought we were just taking a few pictures, but man I wish I had a boogie board with us. Here is the amazing view to the right of Madigan.... You could just sit and stare at this water all day.

We Made It!

When you wake up at 4am after having two hours of sleep and you go outside to load the suitcases into the back of the SUV and it is only 9 degrees out, you don't really mind the horrible lines at the airport. That is because you know after a pleasant four and a half hour flight, you will see the Aruban flag and know it is all good. We survived the mass of Spring Breakers at Logan Airport although it wasn't easy. There was no time for a pink Dunkin Donut for the four year old. I have to give her props though, she did not cry. The lovely gate agents were announcing our name (along with twenty others) who were in their opinion, a bit tardy for the flight. So, straight on board we went. Great flight, Madigan was preoccupied with her new Peter Pan DVD and I tried to catch a few winks, not easy when there is a stranger sitting next to you. We could not all sit together, so Madigan and I got to bother someone besides Daddy four times to let us out of the row to use the lav. We are pretty sure that Daddy and Big Brother Ben had a very long nap, twenty rows ahead of us.

So today is our first full day in Aruba. We are waking up, having coffee out by the pool and just trying to figure out what we should do today. I think it will involve sun, water, and cocktails, topped off by an amazing dinner at one of the island's unbelievable restaurants.
More later, gotta let Madigan have her turn on the computer. Have a great day everyone!

I Outlet, Do You?

I got a great email for a discount at the Polo Factory. It is $20 off for every $100 you spend at the children's store and $25 for every $150 you spend at the grown up store. I could not figure out how to get the damn thing to fully appear on this screen. So, if you are interested in the savings, email me (dmmlandcruiser@aol.com) and I will forward you the email. The sale is only for their factory stores, think Wrentham Village if you are a Massachusetts reader, and the effective dates are March 1 thru April 4th.

We love going to the children's store because it is full of goodies for both Madigan and I. They have balloons and huge cylinders filled with penny candy like Smarties and jawbreakers. They also have pretty good deals running on their adorable preppy clothing. Last week when I was there, they had winter polos for boys @ $4.99 each! That is even better than Marshalls or TJ Maxx. We picked this up in pink last time we were there:

I like the blue better, but everything needs to be pink for my Princess!
