Prom Season

Ah, Springtime is here and that can only mean Prom Season for all of those high school juniors and seniors. I remember the days fondly. Scouring the mall for the perfect Jessica McClintock dress that looked like your grandmother's living room drapes. The baby's breath in our hair and the Bartles and James Wine Coolers. My how times have changed:

This is a girl from Texas who was refused admission to the Big Night because her "dress" violated school dress code. Nevermind their dress code, this dress invites several other violations that I can think of include physical ones. I cannot believe her mother found this to be an appropriate choice for a young girl. Maybe they were filming a music video that night too?

I feel sad for that girl to think it's OK to dress that way - anywhere other than the beach. Where are her parents? grandparents?

This has been all over the news here. What really makes me mad is to hear girls say they should be able to wear what they want and it's nobody's business. Hello, I have teenage boys. If you dress like that, don't get mad when the boys all have something to say. Good Lord! Where is any modesty whatsoever in today's world. That mother ought to be arrested for solicitation!

It doesn't even look like a dress. It looks like a satin sheet she wrapped around herself. And what is she trying to say with this? People don't dress like this unless they are pretty desperate for attention. I agree with Pearls. Girls these days have no idea of appropriate attire, and then defend their hideous choices by saying it's their right and no one's business. There is a time and place for all types of clothing. It is a shame her parents appear to be absent, and clearly did not impart good sense. And if they saw her walk out wearing this, then SHAME ON THEM. This is what low self worth looks like. Such a pity. Truly.
