Happy Birthday

As I mentioned, I did not get any new pocketbooks for my birthday. Instead, I got A New Car! I feel like Bob Barker right now. I used to drive a 2003 Toyota Sequoia. My husband leases his cars and was up for a new one. He knew he wanted a hybrid and ended up with the Lexus RX400h in black, so we almost match! I considered the Mercedes GL 450 but felt too "squished" inside as it is very narrow compared to what I have been used to. I saw this and it reminded me so much of my beloved Land Cruiser. I know it eats up gas, but I really feel like I can never go back to a car after driving SUVs for the last ten years. So far, it is great. One of the best features is that it has a backup camera so I can see what is right behind me. That gives Madigan's toys (and Madigan herself) a greater chance at survival!

I hope everyone has a wonderful night. I am off to settle in for game 1 of the World Series. I hope my Boys of Summer can put a stop to the winning streak of the Rockies. Captain Varitek has all of my trust!

One of my friends just got a silver one like that--she had been driving a BMW wagon and she says she loves it.

Dad on the Run started driving my Land Cruiser 3 years ago when I went to a car, but I still get to drive it once in awhile. I still love it as much as the day we bought it.

Have fun in your new car. We have the "no french fries in the new car" rule...until I get hungry for french fries!

Happy Birthday!! Have fun with the new set of wheels!

So... I'm thinking Beckett should start games 2, 3, and 4 too, how about you?

Libby, I think Beckett could! I hate that Gagne is still on the roster and feel awful for Tim Wakefield and Trot Nixon should be in Right!

What a great gift to receive.
I drive a smaller SUV and I can't go back to driving a car either.

Happy Belated Birthday! I am looking at this car right now, would you still recommend it for a good family car? It is hard to pick out a car before I actually have children, but we are hoping for one next year, and I need a new car now.

Mrs. P, I would recommend it for a family that does not have more than three kids. I love it but I only have one and she is in a booster seat. I don't think you could easily get three car seats in the middle row. It does have a third row, but I could not imagine having to get a small child in the back. Also, when the 3rd row is in use, there is almost zero cargo space so it would be really tough to fit a carriage in there. The plus side is that the ride is incredibly smooth and luxurious. The drivers seat is tres comfortable and the NAV system is easy to operate. I had a Land Cruiser and a Sequoia before this and I really loved the Land Cruiser. That is a bit wider and would be a good choice if you plan to have a bigger family!

Hope this helps!

Thanks Donna! I don't have any children yet, planning on trying next October. We are only planning on having two and hopefully they will be a few years apart, but I am not getting any younger. ;)
